The Coalition for Collegiate Women’s Leadership (“CCWL”) today announced its Annual Conference for Greek Women Leaders will be held in Atlanta, Ga., February 21-23, 2019 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel and Conference Center.
The Annual Conference is a three-day event that includes education on leadership and pressing topics in the collegiate and Greek communities. Connections made at each Conference have created a unique and powerful network of fearless female leaders, encouraging generations of women to rise as problem solvers in their chapters, campuses, and communities.
“This is my third year attending the conference. I just keep coming back for the amazing speakers and networking experience,” Western Kentucky University junior Savannah Brant said. “I think it’s so great to attend a conference full of dedicated leaders and they all happen to be sorority women. I think I’m going to have to come back for a fourth year, too.”
Many advisors and professionals, like Georgia Southern University’s Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Francisco Lugo, accompanied the collegiate groups at the Annual Conference.
“Bringing our Panhellenic women to CCWL allows them to connect with other Panhellenic groups and share best practices, trends and more importantly, it allows women to enhance their leadership skills, which in turn allows them to come back to campus and start the process of creating positive change within our community,” Lugo said.
Approximately 800 collegiate women and campus advisers from throughout the country attended the 2018 Annual Conference themed “Ignite Your Spark.” Educational sessions covered topics facing collegiate women today such as building confidence and community, leading with empathy, mental health, self-defense, and handling and preventing sexual assault. Special programming was also offered for Greek chapter presidents and emerging leaders, a long-standing tradition of the Annual Conference.
Nineteen exhibitors participated in the 2018 Annual Conference Exhibitor Fair and Garden Court Showcase. Organizations such as Crowd Change, Circle of Sisterhood Foundation, Kotis College, Phired Up Productions, Rho Lambda National Honor Society and The Strong Movement shared their stories, products, and services with attendees.
ALMAY®, Forté Foundation, Her Campus Media, Ulta Beauty, Novak Talks and official conference photographer Greek Yearbook are just a few of the 17 sponsors that made a lasting impact with attendees and helped make this year’s Annual Conference a success.
Mariska Morse, the Vice President of Marketing and Operations at the Forté Foundation, spoke with women throughout the weekend about how to land their dream job and prepare their careers for take-off.
“I was so pleased to connect with hundreds of enthusiastic and inspiring young women who attended the CCWL Annual Conference for Greek Women Leaders and introduce them to the important career activation work we do at Forté. These women have bright futures and I hope Forte’s resources will be a significant asset to them throughout their career journeys,” Morse said.
